"Love is a verb. Not a permanent state of enthusiasm."
- Esther Perel
Even the "best" relationships take active work. Whether you are taking preventative measures to keep your relationship healthy or are on the brink of separation, couples therapy can be a hugely impactful facilitator of growth and healing. I work with couples experiencing issues including:
Declining/lacking sexual intimacy
Substance abuse and addiction-related issues
Difficulty expressing feelings and needs
Commitment, attachment and trust-related issues
Getting locked into "perpetual" fights - i.e. recurring conflicts that do not seem to ever get resolved
"Second (or third, or fourth) time around" challenges - i.e. blended families, second marriages/engagements
Couples therapy theories and resources
I utilize a variety of theories and resources to help couples work through whatever challenges they are facing. Favorite resources/theories include: The Gottman Method, Imago Relationship Therapy, the work of Esther Perel, and Emotionally Focused Couples and Family Therapy (EFT). I am LGBTQ+ affirming and welcome all expressions of gender and sexual identity.
Rates and forms of payment
Similar to my policy with individual therapy, I have a standard rate for a 50-minute couples session that can be discussed during our initial consultation. I offer a sliding scale for clients who are facing financial challenges. I run a heart-centered business at the end of the day and will do what I can to meet you at a rate that feels comfortable. Feel free to contact me and/or book a free 15-minute consultation to discuss rates. I am not in-network with any insurance providers but can provide one partner with a superbill if that is helpful. I accept all major credit cards as payment.
Offering in-person and virtual sessions
I offer in-person sessions at my office in LA's Larchmont Village. I also offer video sessions if that is your preferred method of meeting/if you don't reside nearby.
COVID-19 precautions for in-person sessions
Although I cannot guarantee any protection from contracting COVID-19 due to exposure during an in-person session, my office has two large windows that I will happily keep open during our sessions. I am also happy to wear a mask during sessions. I want you to feel as safe and supported as possible! Feel free to reach out with any other questions about this and we can chat.
